Hank wanted help moving his 1981 CAL 38 s/v Mar Querida up to Anacortes. As the plans changed, ie. Bryan headed to the Brooks Range in Alaska, I called my favorite "crew", Sarah and Dave. Whew - they could join us! They picked me up on the way to Shilshole, and Hank called just before we got to the railroad bridge. He was in Anacortes - could we bring the boat up? Er, sure. . . The three of us have done several deliveries together ranging from Tacoma to Anacortes, and work well together. We dug down to check the transmission fluid and got off the dock about 10am. Off Kingston a mean looking Navy Aegis Destroyer was coming in. Point No Point was passed just after 1PM. Note shooting with two cameras, times are approximate. Off Marrowstone Island we put the jib out and sailed briefly, loving the quiet. Nice to see Fort Flagler and the Marrowstone Point Light in the daylight. We briefly scouted for the Mystery Bay entrance, then got a slip in Point Hudson Marina and had dinner at Sirens, a welcome tradition. Look at the kids sailing in. On Wednesday we left about 9AM and were soon off Point Wilson. Off Whidbey Island, we saw a sub with escorts, and one whale fin and five whale watch boats. A Foss tug tied up to a incoming tanker for a safety tow. Yes, there were comments about the "tablet boys" looking for the Lawson Reef buoy, off Deception Pass. We passed the Burrows Island Light House, Discovery Park and the Guemes ferry was loading, as we sorting out the Cap Sante Marina slip assignment. Hank met us up in the parking lot, and drove us back to Shilshole. What another "epic" adventure. . . Thanks team!
