PSCC Port Blakely Raft-up

Cruiseship Seattle

Kathleen and I were both working, so we got off about 3:45 Saturday afternoon, just in time for the cruise ship parade. We'd missed the cruising club "Tequila Race", but we sailed from West Point to Port Blakely to join the raft-up. We made it in time for the "South of the Border" potluck dinner, and yes - we arrived before dark. . .

It was a special delight to see Tor and Jes and their twins, Lars and Oden, just back from their 2646 mile trip to Glacier Bay on their 32' steel Tahiti ketch, s/v Yare. They are sure growing up, and what a great trip!

In the night, the wind piped up and it really poured. The raft spun tangeling anchors and causing lots of alarm. We bailed out at 3:30 AM, and were back at the pumpout, when the rain let up, at 5:30AM - a short night. . .
