Baja Haha 2006

The next day, October 30, there was a mass start, and with a fleet of 162 boats, there's a bit of everything
from a 70' retired race boat with paying quests, to a 20' Flicka. We had great sailing conditions,
lots of spinnakers up, a good breeze, and nice ocean swells. Sweet!

On the first leg to Turtle Bay, we were out a couple nights and days at sea, wearing
foul weather gear mostly at night, keeping 4 hour watches, and running downwind
in 10 to 25 knots of wind. We comfortably carried full sails all the time, often running
"wing on wing", while other boats reefed, broached and had more stories -
one woman cracked 6 ribs, but managed to smile by the end of the trip.
