Tacoma Tall Ships Trip

July 3rd & 4th, 2005

On the third, we crabbed but only caught starfish North of Port Madison.
So we motorsailed in light air to the South end of Maury Island.
We had a fine time with Patty, Bob & Carl, and woke up to the "Race round Vashon",
small hydros, speed boats and jet skis close enough to spray us!

After breakfast we headed over to Tacoma, where Kathleen qualified for Duck Dodge,
steering us through all the tall ships, powerboaters, wakes and waves.
We saw Fred & Ann as went up the Foss Waterway till security turned us back.
Back out in the fleet we cought some of the airshow and headed up Colvos Pass.
Sailing again we had enough wind to need to do a sail change down to the #2.
We found a lost dingy, and retrieved it for the owners and made it to Blake Harbor
just after sunset, in time for the fireworks, a long day!
