Blake Island Race

May 14th, 2005

Always an interesting race, we were last to start and first to Blake Island.
We rounded the SW corner, parked in the current and held our breath,
as we swept back sideways in the current, watching the rocks below.

The rest of the fleet avoided the current and a couple boats passed us.
We tip toed around the island, catching the C&C Moose Unknown.

The center sound looked very light, so we headed for the Bainbridge side,
but the wind filled from the West instead of South, and the rest of the fleet reached by us
as we sailed the slow long course, toward West Point & the finish.

Oh well, win some - lose some!
